The living room is, by its very nature, indelibly associated with the idea of comfort. An uncomfortable living room would be more than a contradiction in terms; it would also be a very unpleasant place indeed in which to spend time. For these doubters who are suspicious of the very idea of ‘decoration’, a comfortable room is one where, vaguely, anything goes.

In any bedroom, the most important piece of furniture is the bed, for that is where comfort and peace begin. If the bed itself is uncomfortable, you will not sleep well, and if you do not sleep well, daily life becomes more and more trying until you find yourself in a tired cycle from which it can be hard to escape.
